Thursday 8. May - Afternoon: Intro to Forum Theatre

Forum Theatre:

-

Groups of six. 15 min. to share stories. Each member of the group share a story which has to be true for one self. The subject of the story can be anything. Decide in each group which story to show. The person which story is choosed has to direct the others how to play it. The person can chose one of the others to play him / her or he / she can play him-/herself.
The stories are showed as small plays. After each the facilitator asks if the story is clear.
Important to make important details very clear. Make it easy for the spectators - think children show.
Sharing stories: -
The facilitator invites people to tell a storys where you have experienced a situation being very difficult to change. These stories will later be used to Forum Theatre in this workshop.
6 - 7 persons shared their story with the rest of the group. People can vote as many times as they like and three different stories are selected.
The persons which stories have been chosen pick the persons to play the different characters in the play.
Comments: -
Forum Theatre is as risk full as life itself.
We must not be fearful for making mistakes in the process of making changes. The process/ the preparations to change is what we do making ForumTheatre. Every exercise/game must be seen as a part of a whole, must be seen as a part of the process. A proces that is as important or even more important than the final product.
